There are many honest and trustworthy yacht brokers and boat salesmen handling used boats, however there are also many who have received their sales training selling used cars and the like. You must make sure you are absolutely satisfied BEFORE you hand over your money. ALWAYS hire a qualified surveyor to check out your boat purchase before you part with any substantial amounts of cash. Make sure you carefully check builder’s certificates, bills or sale and any other documentation that is offered to prove the current ownership.
