Hypothermia is the accidental lowering of the body's central (core) temperature to 35 degrees C/ 95 degrees F or less. Remember that hypothermia can occur in all seasons, that water greatly accelerates heat loss, and that children and the elderly are at particularly high risk for hypothermia.
